ON A STICK
SO As a bird . flaps So will he fly; As a man spends So will he buy; As a snail crawls So will he creep; As a man dreams So will he sleep. ROBES We hardly connect a robe with the idea of violence, yet it is really the same word as rob. Robes, in its original sense, meant the spoils stripped from the enemy slain on the field of battle, and for a long time it meant simply spoil or booty. Then, as much of this consisted of garmens, the word robe was used in its modern sense.
