FASHION REVOLUTION
LONDON UNEASY AT LONG SKIRT ERA BATTLE WITH PARIS Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. An exhibition of fashions in the leading houses confirms the forecast that a dress revolution is taking place. The rigid straight line has definitely gone, and there is a complete revival of the ornamental side flowers, laces and ribbons. Even the fans of our grandmothers are reappearing. Large bouquets bar monising with the dress are prominent. The boyish tailor-made frock is swept aside by an enveloping robe, heavily tucked and frilled. Incidentally, skirts are much longer. This complete reversal is causing uneasiness in London, where fashion artists are urging a war against the dictates of Paris. Even medicos and hygienists are urging London women, in the interests of health, not to submit to the Paris onslaught.
