Mcllveney, today, when asked to comment on his recent tour of the police stations in j the North Island. Mr. Mcllveney returned to Welling- . ton on Friday evening after an absence of 15 days, during which time he ! visited Wanganui, Raetihi, Tokaanu. Taupo, Rotorua, Putaruru. Cambridge, \ Hamilton, Auckland, Te Ivuiti, ; Mokau, New Plymouth and other Taranaki towns and Palmerston North. Travelling by motor, Mr. Mcllveney was able to make the trip with the minimum of delay. He inspected stations and equipment, and when the merr paraded before him he invited them to make suggestions and to bring to Ills notice any complaints they might have to make. “I am very proud to say that during the whole of the tour I did not receive one single complaint,” he said. Mr. Mcllveney has yet to visit stations in the Napier and Gisborne districts and those in the South Island.
