ROXY

“HURRICANE” TOMORROW The double-feature, talkie programme which has been delighting audiences at the Roxy Theatre, Queen Street, during the past few days will have its final screening this evening. The pictures are “The Flying Marine,” a thrilling aviation story, starring Ben Lyon and Shirley Mason, also “The Spieler,” a circus story, starring Fred Kohler and Renee Adoree. Two sea dogs of the screen are united in “Hurricane,” the Columbia all-talk-ing epic of the sea, coming tomorrow to the Roxy Theatre. They are Ralph Ince, director, and Hobart Bosworth, star. These two have been associated with sea dramas so long that it is difficult to think of one without thinks iiig of the other. Ince is noted for his w r ork both as an actor and director in “Shanghaied,” and “Breed of Sea.” Exponents of the virile type of heman that is supposed to be the produce of the sea, Ince and Bosworth, make a combination that has produced in “Hurricane” one of the most fascinating pictures of the year. Johnny Mack Brown is cast ?is the juvenile lead in “Hurricane,” -while Leila Hyams and Leila Mclntyre have the only feminine roles in the thrilling sea drama. The use of sound and dialogue enhances the value of this | type of picture, the swishing of the I water, the lashing of the sails, the howl of the wind and the creaking of the windlass add a realism impossible I to obtain otherwise.
