MISSING METAL
THREE MEN CHARGED WITH THEFT £BO WORTH INVOLVED The disappearance of £BO worth of scrap metal from the foundry of T. V. Masefield and Company or January 11 last was investigated by Mr. Justice Smith and a jury in the Supreme Court today, when three men. Rudolph Allan. Edward Richard Black and David Todd were jointly charged with stealing the material. Alternative charges of theft and receiving were also laid. Mr. Hubble, Assistant Crown Prosecutor, conducted the prosecution. Mr. Noble appeared for Black and Todd and Mr. Dickson represented Allan. T. V. Masefield, owner of the foundry, said (be premises were locked on Saturday, but on returning on Monday he found a sash had been removed and entrance thus effected. A number of metal articles, including a propeller. similar to the one produced, were missing. (Proceeding.!
