STAFF PICNIC

AMALGAMATED THEATRES, LTD. A most enjoyable picnic was held at Sharpe’s Bush on Sunday by the staff of the Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd. Brown, 1; Miss Ivenerley and Mr. E. Perkinson, 2. IOOYds Theatre Relay (for cup).— West End Theatre team, 1; also started, teams from Roxy Theatre, Queen Street; Crystal Palace Mount Eden; Empress Newton; Alexandra Green Lane; De Luxe, Mount Albert; and Cambridge Town Hall. Hop, Step and Jump, handicap, men F. Perkinson. Hop, Step and Jump, handicap, women.—Miss Rennie. At the conclusion of the day Mr. M. Moodabe, managing-director, presented a number of valuable trophies donated by the company. AUCKLAND THEATRE EMPLOYEES The Auckland Theatre Employees’ Mutual Aid Society held its annual picnic at Motutapu yesterday. About 1,000 people attended, including employees and friends, and a very enjoyable time was spent. A sports programme was carried out. There were races for boys and girls and men and women as well as a baby show and a nail-driving competition. . The theatre employees’ relay race of teams of four, two men and two women, for the Alex. O’Hare Memorial Cup, presented by Mr. J. Farrell, was won by the Civic Theatre team. His Majesty’s Theatre being second.
