Obituary
MRS. S. A. DEAN A resident of New Zealand for IS years, Mrs. Sarah Ann Dean, a native of Leigh. Manchester, died at Huntly in her 70th year. Her husband, Mr. Charles James Dean, survives her, also a son, Mr. James Dean, engineer at the Glen Afton Colliery, and a daughter, Mrs. McGaughran. The interment took place at Kimihia Cemetery, the Rev. Father Curley officiating in the presence of a large number of friends. MR. W. APPLEBY Mr. William Appleby, who died at Pukekohe East on Friday at the age of 64. was born at Razorback, near Pokeno. and after serving his time as an engineer was employed by the Northern Steamship Company. Later he retired, and engaged in fanning at Pukekohe East. Mr. Appleby is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter. The funeral at Pukekohe yesterday was largely attended, the pall-bearers being associate members of the Northern Steamship Company.
