Bayfield Old Scholars Hold Tennis Dance

First Function of Year in Point Erin Kiosk MANY DANCERS PRESENT The Point Erin Park Kiosk was brightly decorated on Saturday evening, when the Bayfield Old Scholars* Lawn Tennis Club held a jol y flannel dance, the club’s first function of the year. BARGE tennis racquet, strung with blue and yellow streamers was the original form of decoration, and streamers, laced and inter-twined screened the walls. AMONG THE DANCERS Mrs. N. Lucena wore an uneven lomcth frock of honey-coloured satin beaute ° Mrs. K. Galloway was wearing Wch duchesse satin and lace. Miss R. Freeman’s uneven-lens* ™ frock was of pale begonia pink satin Miss N. Burchan was wearing peach pink crepe de chine. Miss K. Fergus chose a pretty floral frock of crepe de chine. Miss H. Lang’s frock was of iYorv chiffon taffeta and tulle. Miss L. Burnett wore flame coloured satin charmeuse. IN LILAC GEORGETTE Miss Nance Lennox had on a lilac georgette frock embossed in silver thread. A bouffant frock of pale primrose taffeta was worn by Miss X. Staples. Miss Nora Phillips was in a gown ©f flame embossed georgette and gold Hce. Miss Sybil Phillipps was wearing gentian blue georgette with shoulder spray of blue and pink flowers. Miss A. Thomas chose pompadour pink georgette. Miss F. Stretton’s uneven length frock was of primtemps green satin beaute. Miss J. Hard ley was in del blue embossed georgette. Miss M. Green’s ivory lace gown was embroidered with diamente. Miss L. Clark wore a becoming frock of cedar rose georgette and ring velvet Miss M. Daw’s uneven-length lrock was of deep marigold flowered chiffon. Miss J. Burnett was in a bouffant taffeta frock of pale turquoise. Miss R. Hardley was in a smart frock of camellia pink chiffon velvet Miss Jamieson was in a frock of roee du barri crepe de chine. Miss Corner’s frock of flowered georgette dipped unevenly to the ankles. Miss T. Williams wore a frock of phlox pink georgette appliqued with roses. Miss J. Cairns chose canton jade crepe de" chine with diamente relief. Miss A. Boyce wore a pretty frock of printed chiffon.

MISS HEYWOOD AND MISS HAMMOND ARE GUESTS OF HONOUR

HAMILTON FUNCTIONS Miss Helen Heywood and Miss Ethel Hammond, who are leaving Hamilton shortly for England, have been the guests of honour at several jolly parties recently. Thursday af :ernoon Mrs. Hoy Kemp gave them a very bright party at her home in River Road. The time passed very quickly with chat, tea and a competition that was wofl by Mrs. Leo Swales. The other guests were Mrs. A. English, Mrs. Wynn Gray, Mrs. B. C. Wake, Mrs. F. Gordon, Mrs. A. J. Bond, Mrs. C. Matthews, Mrs. A.Griffiths, Mrs. P. G. Russell, Mrs. ISwales, Mrs. R. Worley, Mrs. A IBatchelor (Cambridge), Mrs. J. McNicoll, Mrs. F. Beehan, Miss M. Wilkinson, Miss R. Brewis, Miss W. Manning, Miss V. Watts, Miss N. Valder and Miss A. Coventry. On Thursday evening Miss Kath Wilson was hostess at a party ginen j for Miss Heywood and Miss Hammond. Progressive bridge was played, tha | prize-winners being Miss Harr owell and Miss A. Coventry.
