RANGITANE’S UP-TO-DATE LIFEBOATS.—The lifeboats on the Rangitane are fitted with hand-worked levers which work a propeller. They can attain a speed of six knots Passengers sitting on either side of the boat, work the levers backward and forward. In the picture the boatswain is showing how the levers are worked.
