Many speeding motorists have cause | I to regret the appointment of a traffic j inspector by the Piako County Coun- j cil. At the S.M. Court, before two j Justices of the Peace, Mr. C. Russell, the inspector, brought cases for exceeding the speed limits against C. F. Shafft, R. Taylor, P. Schaare, P. Hancock, L. Gibbons, F. R. Gibson, HScherer, R. Christian, G. Barford and j C. Black. They were each, fined £2 I and costs. • • * The Catholic High School, erected at a cost of £ 5,000, to which Is to be added £2,000 for land, will be opened on Sunday next by the Bishop of Auckland, the Right Rev. J. M. Liston, D. * * * The fine weather ruling for the past i week has enabled many district farmers to harvest fine crops of bay successfully.
