GUNNERY PRACTICE

SECONDARY SCHOOLBOYS AT NARROW NECK SPORTS MEETING HELD The artillery sections of the noncommissioned officers from the secondary schools in the Northern Military tommand, vrho are in camp at Narrow Neck, carried out gunnery practice at targets situated in the Motuihi Channel yesterday afternoon. Although the majority of the boys had only one year's training the firing was reported by the officers in charge to be of a high standard. The practice started with the firing of two 18pounders over a range of 4,600yd5, and during the afternoon 32 rounds were tired Luter in the afternoon a sports meeting was held on Narrow Neck Beach, and this was favoured with large entries and was witnessed by a large attendance.
