MARRIED IN SECRET
COUNTESS OF SEAFIELD WED IN ENGLAND NEW ZEALAND GIRL United P. .I. — By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, Thursday. The Countess of Seafield was secretly married today to Mr. Derek Herbert. When the Countess of Seafield became engaged a few weeks ago, sin; was mentioned as being a most extensive landowner in the British Isles and is strikingly beautiful. The young countess resembles Queen Victoria, in that she is pioneering longer skirts. The Countess of Seafield (Nina Caroline Ogilvie Grant) was born in 1906. She is a daughter of the lltli Earl of Seafield and Nina, daughter of the late Dr, J. T. Townend, of Christchurch. The countess succeeded her father in 1915. Her uncle, Baron Strathspey, is the present heir to the title. He ife also a New Zealander, and formerly lived at Oamaru, North Otago. Many of the Countess of Seafield’s relatives still live in Canterbury. One of her aunts is Mrs. H. Ensor. The title dates back to 1698 The countess holds the title in her own right.
