Second Series To Start

TOMORROW’S SUBURBAN CRICKET Ponsonby and Ellerslie THE second series of the second round of the Suburban Cricket Association’s competitions will be commenced on the Domain tomorrow. The wickets are now in good order, though they were showing signs of wearing on Wednesday. In view of the evenness of the competition, the games are likely to attract the keenest interest.

Tho principal attraction should be the meeting of Ellerslie and Ponsonby, both of whom suffered a phenomenal batting collapse on Wednesday. However, neither team showed its true form on an unfavourable wicket, and, with a batsman’s pitch tomorrow, both should produce their best. The competition leader, Green Lane, will meet W.Y.M.1., which, if it can produce the same form as in the last two matches, will be a very hard proposition. A win for the new team would be exceptionally popular. A keen struggle should be witnessed in the clash between Albion and Harbour Board, especially as the new team is now showing its best form both in batting and bowling. Teams are as under: Senior A Grade Green Lane.—Clark, Hart, Hughes, Kerr, Seccombe, Scarborough, Wroath, Watts (3). Ellerslie. —Burton.
