LORRY FALLS IN CREEK

CRASH THROUGH RAILING RESULT OF BROKEN SPRING Crashing through the railing of the Wlrau Creek bridge at New Lynn at 11.30 o’clock this morning, a timberladen lorry was precipitated upside down into the creek, which was at full tide and almost covered the vehicle. The driver, Mr. J. McAllister, and a passenger, Mr. E. W att, who were in the cabin of the vehicle, escaped uninjured except for slight cuts about the head. Both received a ducking. The lorry, weighing four tons, which was owned' by George Rhodes, builder ■tnd manufacturer, Fanshawe Street, City, was bound for Wliangarei with a heavy load of timber. A front spring broke on entering the bridge, causing the vehicle to veer sharply to one side and crash through the .railing.
