SHEEP ON THE MOVE

BIG FLOCKS FROM EAST COAST From Our Own Correspondent OPOTIKI, Tuesday. During the last few weeks exceptionally large numbers of sheep have been driven through Opotiki from Gisborne and the East Coast, On the journey to Taneatua, where the sheep are railed to the Waikato and other destinations. For the first time, use is being made of the new Waioeka Road. The n r .v road owing to freedom from hold-ups by cars, enables much better time to be made on the journey from Poverty Bay. with the result that the sheep are in fine condition. Food along the present indications it is estimated that nearly 50,000 sheep will pass through Opotiki this season.
