TARANAKI OIL REPORT

Press Association GISBORNE, Today. The Taranaki oil report is as follows:—The Gisborne No. 2 well has been drilled to 3,727 ft, mostly through shale, though the last 25ft has been through hard, limey sandstone. Somewhat less gas has been given off. The Slin diameter casing is leaking at a depth of 80ft and it is proposed to cement this ofT. In the meantime underreaming of the hole is being done from 2,726 ft to the bottom.
