EDENDALE’S NEW NAME

SANDRINGHAM ADOPTED V, itliout discussion the Mount. Albert Borough Council passed a special order last evening changing the name of Edendaie to Sandringham and the name of Edendaie Road to Sandringham Road. On the ground that the estimate of Lb DO for the construction of a ramp ill lieu of steps down Edendaie Road on the southern side of Kingsland footbridge was too heavy and the fact that the work would chiefly benefit the Railway Department, the council declined to find the funds for this undertaking. The Railway Department had offered to carry the work out if the council would find the money. During the past six weeks permits for buildings in the borough valued at £959 were granted.
