Sir William Morris is said to have decided to include the manufacture of light airplane engines in his activities. Official returns show that Victorians last year paid £1,166,535 in motor-car taxation, the number of new vehicles registered in the year being 13,423. There was an increase of 25 per cent, in the number of commercial vehicles in use, while the number of private motor-cars registered increased by 12,520, or 11 per cent. The number of motor-cycles used increased by only 1,250, or 4 per cent.
