He was kneeling at the altar with the bride when to the astonishment of all he suddenly checked the officiating priest, rushed from the altar, and pounced on a man among the con gregation. He arrested him on a charge of stealing a purse from a woman sitting alongside him. The thief was locked up, and the woman regained her purse. Santos returned to his waiting bride, apologised all round, and was married without further interruption.
