THE VALUE OF TRUTH
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERMON “Truth” was the subject of the lesson-sermon in First Church of Christ, Scientist, Auckland, yesterday. The golden text was from Psalms exvii., 2, “The truth of the Lord endureth for ever; praise ye the Lord.” Among the citations was the following from the Bible: "By mercy and truth, iniquity is purged; and by the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil” (Prov. xvi„ 6). The lesson-sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures”: “Truth is God’s remedy for errors of every kind, and truth destroys only what is untrue. Hence the fact that, today as yesterday, Christ casts out evils and heals the sick.”
