Caravel Boy was prominent to the straight,, where the three placed horses came into the picture, and an exciting finish resulted in a dead-heat between Rosendo and Danish, with Cohort three-quarters of a length away third, and Goldfinder fourth. McCarten .! 2 CLEAR FLIGHT, 4yrs, 7.11, C. Rowley 3 Fourteen started. Clear Flight was one ol the first out from the barrier, but when the field settled down Duita overhauled him. Clear Flight regained the lead at the straight entrance, but at the distance Venetian Lady and Remora put In great efforts, and Venetian Lady won by two and a-half lengths from Remora. Raisin was fourth. Time, 1.14*. JANUARY HANDICAP Of £500; 1* miles. WESTERN LASS (D. U. Seaton), b m, 6yrs, by Westcourt—Woloroi Lass, 8.6, Pratt l JEYPORE, 8.7, Goldstone 2 SPEARMAN, 9.7, Johnstone 3 Thirteen started, including Patadawn. Western Lass won by half a neck. Time, 2.9 J.
