CHINESE DIPLOMAT
SHORT AUCKLAND VISIT RECEPTIONS PLANNED An interesting visitor to Auckland on Monday will be Mr. Fung pg. Hsiang, the first Consul-General tor China to Australia under the Rgg king Government, who is travelling by the Niagara to Sydney. He be feted by the Chinese community of Auckland while here, and it is poj sible he will make a brief tour 0 t the North Island. A noted figure in Chinese politieil and diplomatic circles, Mr. Kung has an intimate knowledge of the economic problems of his country. He was educated in England and ihe United States. He will be welcomed on arrival here by a committee of the Chinese community Society under Mr. Ah Chee and later will be the guest of tha Rotary Club at luncheon. In the afternoon, at three o'clock, Mr. Fung will be tendered a reception by the Chinese community at Cooke’s restaurant, and at seven o'clock will meet members of the Chinese Nationalist Society, and later will be a dinner guest at the Hotel Cargen. The visitor will be taken on a suburban sightseeing tour on Tuesday.
