HOW TO MAKE HUMPTY DUMPTY

Just ask Mummy to give you an egg and to bore two holes in it—top and bottom. Blow it till it is quite empty. (If you put a piece of tissue paper over the hole you can do it quite cleanly without wasting the egg.) Make two legs with matches and cut two feet out of a cork. Fix these in two holes each side of the narrow end of the egg with a little seccotine. Now comes the fun. Paint two large arched eyebrows, two big eyes, a nose and a mouth, and a rainbow-coloured cravat. When Humpty is dry put him on the nursery mantelshelf.
