THE BOAT RACE

For two equal teams. Each team sits on the floor with legs outstretched; the feet of each person should be touching the back of the person in front. The two leaders are given signalling sticks (or any long pieces of wood), which they hold above their heads with both hands. When the whistle is blown they lean back and pass the stick to the second person, who passes to the third, and so on. Each person must use two hands. When sticks reach the end of lines, the last players run up to the front and pass the stick overhead, and so on, till the leaders are again in their original places. The first team to liave its leader back wins, and the whole crew should lie back.
