Two Women and Child Knocked Down by Car
SEVERE INJURIES ACCIDENT AT NIGHT From Our Oven Correspondent HUNTLY, Today. A serious accident occurred near Kimihia Cemetery last night, when three female pedestrians were run into by a motor-car and injured. At the spot where the accident occurred there is no sidewalk, and pedestrians are compelled to walk on the side of the road. Those injured were: — Mrs. Francis Ann Armstrong, 57, wife of Mr. William Armstrong, Kimihia, fractured lower right leg, severe cuts and abrasions. Miss Greta M. Armstrong, 16, fractured right leg, severe cuts and facial abrasions. Miss Jean Armstrong, aged 11, was stunned and was admitted to the Huntly Hospital, where she is now progressing favourably. The other two women were admitted to the Huntly Hospital, and later to the Waikato Hospital. Drs. Barrett and Douglas attended the sufferers at the Huntly Hospital, and the former, who had been summoned from Hamilton, arranged for the transfer of the injured to Hamilton. The motor-car was driven by Mr. Reginald Cecil Waite Taylor, United Insurance Company inspector, of 4 Benfeld Terrace, Mount Albert, and he was accompanied by Mr. Bridgens.
