PROPOSED DUTY ON HIDE? REJECTED Reed. 12.30 p.m. WASHINGTON, Fri. The Senate rejected an amendment to the Tariff Bill proposing a duty of five cents a pound on green hides and nine cents on dried.
A.M.P. DIRECTOR. Viscount Jellicoe has been appointed the London director of tbe Australian Mutual Provident Society.
