“PARTICULARLY MEAN THEFT” JPrcss Association GISBORNE, Thursday. “The offence was a particularly mean one,” commented the magistrate, Mr. P. H. Harper, when imposing a penalty on Lawrence Charles McGuire, alias King, alias Green, for theft of £l3 at Murchison. Accused was in a position of trust, having possession of a letter containing money given him by a fellow employee, said the magistrate, who gave accused, though he had been four times previously convicted, another chance and admitted him to probation for two years.
