THEFT FROM BOOT SHOP

From Our Own Correspondent TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. The theft of a pair of boots valued at £1 8s 6d from Patterson’s boot shop, Te Awamutu. was admitted by George Lees at the Police Court yesterday. Constable Forsyth arrested the accused in Arawata Street, and he was brought before Messrs. W. C. Savill and W. Swain, J.P.’s, charged with the theft. The Bench imposed a. sentence of one month’s imprisonment. Lees came from Auckland, and had only been a few hours in Te Awaznulu before he was arrested.
