WORKMEN BEGIN DEMOLITION OF RUSSIAN BELLS UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF Reed. 9.5 a.m. MOSCOW, Wed. Five thousand workmen this evening will begin the destruction of the famous Siminov Monastery in order to remove the bells in furtherance of the Soviet anti-God campaign. It is intended to complete the destruction with day labour, which the “Krasnaya Gazeta” describes as the best means of solving the unemployment problem.
