HAMILTON REGATTA

DRAW CONDUCTED BY MAGISTRATE POSITIONS ON RIVER From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. The draw for positions on the river for crews competing in the Hamilton Regatta on Anniversary Day was conducted by Mr. Wyvern Wilson. Two representatives of the Hamilton Club, one representative of North Shore Club, and two pressmen, including The Sun’s local correspondent, were present. The method of drawing was as follows:—The names of each crew inscribed on cards were placed in one hat and numbered cubes were placed in another hat. Mr. Wilson then drew a card and a cube, recording the number against the names, of the crews on a prepared list. Hamilton was again successful, drawing five firsts out of the 11 events. The first position signifies that next to the western (or town) bank of the river, the other positions being next in order. The draw was as follows: Senior Fours.—Hamilton No. 2,1; Hamilton No. 1,2; St. George’s, 3. Somerville Shield, 8 oars.—North Shore, 1; Hamilton, 2. Handicap Sculls.—Hamilton (St. Clair), 1; Hamilton (Molesworth), 2; Hamilton (Wink), 3; North Shore (Davies), 4; Tauranga (Turner), 5; North Shore (Graham), 6; North Shore (Dean), 7; Tauranga (Hau), 8. Junior Fours.—West End, 3 ; Hamilton No. 2,2; North Shore No. 1,3; Hamilton No. 1,4; North Shore No. 2, 5. Maiden Fours, Open.—Hamilton No. 2, 1; Hamilton No. 1,2; St. George’s, 3; North Shore, 4; Tauranga, 5. Maiden Fours, 10 stone.—North Shore, 1; St. George’s, 2; Hamilton, 3.
