GAME WITH M.C.C. SEVEN WICKETS DOWN Press Association MART ON. Today. Tho M.C.C. v. Rangitikei cricket match commenced this morning in fine weather and on a splendid wicket. The visitors won the toss and sent Rangitikei in to bat, D. Cameron and D. Barton opening to the bowling of Barratt and Worthington. Disaster came early. Cameron being caught by Nichols off Worthington when he had scored six. and a few minutes later L. Burke met his fate at the hands of the same men when he had scored one and the total was 12. Hayward was the next, and when play had been in progress half an hour Barton was caught by Earle off Worthington. 21-3-12. Hayward was stumped, 28-4-10. A. P. Smith and Ilodder were together at 12.30. After an hour’s play the score was 35 for four. Hodder and Smith seemed set when the former was run out as a result of good fielding, 38—5—6. Hawke followed, but Smith’s first stroke was an easy cat.ch for Woolley in the slips. 39—-6—5. Staples was next, and in calling Hawke for an impossible run, the latter was run out. 40—7 —0. M. Lyon and Staples were together at lunch, with the score seven lor 45.
