FIGHTING FOR TRIPOLI

ITALIANS WIN CLASH WITH REBELS TRIPOLI, Sunday. Italian troops fighting against rebels captured and occupied Murzuk. This gives the Italians command of the whole of the interior of Tripoli. In 1924 Italy abandoned Murzuk and other inland posts and limited her occupation to the coastal areas. The reconquest of the interior has continued gradually since 1927. In the fighting at Murzuk 48 natives were killed and 12 were captured. Members of the Air Force overtook and annihilated a. retreating column which included 300 camels.
