PASSENGERS INJURED
HUT ROLLS AGAINST TRAIN MAN'S ARM AMPUTATED Press Association GREYMOUTH, Monday. Three passengers on an excursion train were injured hr unusual circumstances yesterday. The train, which was returning from Arthur’s Pass to Hokitika, had passed the Teremakau bridge, near Jackson’s, when it struck a worker’s hut which had been blown on to the line. The hut, in falling, struck Miss Muriel Cochrane, of Cobden, and Mr. Frank Thomas, of Kotuku, who had their arms hanging over the carriage 'windows. Mr. Thomas’s left arm was crushed, and had to be amputated this morning in the Grey hospital. Miss Cochrane received a double fracture of her left arm above the elbow.
