ENGLISH CLIMATE WOULD AFFECT AUSTRALIANS CRICKET SENSATION Reed. 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The Australian test team selector, Mr. R. Jones, threw a bombshell Into a meeting of the New South Wales Cricket Association by announcing that the selectors had consulted a medical authority as to whether climatic conditions in England would affect Ponsford, Woodfull, Oldfield and Jackson in view of their recent injuries and illness. The reply was: “Undoubtedly yes.” As the result of this dramatic statement, the association carried a resolution urging that 16 players be sent to England.
