Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P.. was a passenger from Mar ton to Frankton by the limited express today. Mr. J. A. Push, secretary of the Rangitiki Sawmillers’ Association, arrived by the Limited today. Mr. H. H. Sterling-, general manager of the Railways Department, left lor Wellington by the express last evening. Mr. W. A. Taaft'e, of Auckland, has returned from a motor tour of the North and South Islands. Brother Augustine, a member of the staff of St. Fo ix College. Suva, arrived by the Tofua yesterday. Mr. J. S. Ccster, manager of the Union Steam Ship Company at Apia, arrived in Auckland by the Tofua yesterday. The Tlev. Father Candler, of Adelaide. arrived from Australia this morning by the Ulimaroa and will upend a holiday in New Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. T. McGuiness, of Melbourne. arrived by the Ulimaroa this morning and will spend six months touring the Dominion. Mr. Frank Milner, C.M.G., Rector of Waitaki Boys’ High School, returned by the Ulimaroa this morning from a world tour. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. E. Learning, M.A., for the last ten years on the staff of the Auckland Grammar School, lias been promoted to the position of first assistant at the Rotorua High School. Mr. L. Hogwood, of the Kowhai Junior High School, returned to Auckland by the Ulimaroa this morning after attending the conference of the Institute of Pacific Relations at Kyoto, Japan. Messrs. G. and "W. C. "Wentworth and Mr. W. S. Lamb, three Australian fishermen, arrived by the Ulimaroa this morning. They will fish at Taupo and later at Russell. Mr. Norman Smith, the AustrfUian racing motorist, and Mrs. Smith are at the Hotel Auckland. They are accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. King and their son Robert, Mr. Don Harkiess, mechanic, and Mr. J. H. Mostyn, of Sydney. Dr. K. H. Holdgate, of Timaru, and lis wife arrived at Auckland this uorning from London on the Coptic. Or.
