Subjects of examination are:—Arithmetic (Proficiency standard), 2 papers; English, Typewriting, General Knowledge (oral) and shorthand (optional). Intending Candidates, who must be between the ages of 18 and 23, should make formal application to the Naval Officer in Charge, Auckland, giving full particulars as to age, Qualifications, t tc. No candidate will be accepted who is not physically fit in all respects, and the successful candidate will be required to pass a medical examination before being accepted. In the event of there being a large number of applicants it may be necessary to alter the date and place for the examination. Full particulars regarding the conditions of entry, service, etc., are contained in booklet “How to Join the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy,” a copy of which is obtainable from any Post Office or Defence Office. Applications received by the Naval Officer in Charge after February 1 will not be entertained.
