This afternoon a fire occurred at Hautapu, about two miles from Cambridge, when the old 13-roomed homestead. owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harris, was totally destroyed by fire, together with the whole of the contents. At the time of the ojtbreak there was no one in the house. The occupants were returning to the house when they observed smoke issuing from the roof, but by the time they j eached the dwelling it was a mass of flames and they could only stand by and watch its demolition.
