EDUCATIONAL TALKIES VISION OF THE FUTURE
The university professor of the future will bo a reel of sound motion picture film, accompanying each lecture with a perfect laboratory experiment Tomorrow's travelling salesman will carry his samples on celluloid. Those are the opinions of Jesse L. Lasky. vice-president of Paramount regarding the future possibilities of talking pictures. He says: “There is no limit to the future of the educational picture. I can visualise the practicability of text reels and lectures, given by world authorities on all subjects. When you have voice illustrations the possibilities are boundless. “Sound motion pictures will also prove a boon to salesmen. The modern traveller on the road will carry pictures of his samples and his selling talk will be enhanced by careful preparation and recording on his reels. According to Lasky. the problem facing universities today is the cost of reproducing apparatus. Wien this difficulty is overcome, Paramount will enter the educational field in a thoroughly systematic manner and textreels will* become a fact.
