The break in the continuity of play had affected tho keenness and the standard, with the result that Pipiroa. forfeited to Waitakaruru and small scores were made in the other matches. R. Phillips was top-scorer for Xgatea, making 3 9 of the team’s -7 in the game against Kaihere, which had a lead of 39 on the first innings. C. Randrup took six wickets for 18, and J. Hart four for 26. Kaihere made 60, cf which 11. Dave contributed 21 and F. Woodbridge 38. Both were caught by Donaghy, off Gribble. W. O’Neil took three for 15. and S. Phillips two for 12. Turua could muster only eight players for the game at Kopuaralil, aid these were dismissed for 19. The home team had a three-point win on the firs* innings.
