Tararu gained a. two-point win over City, and Karaka a threepointer against High School. By its win, Karaka cannot be beaten for the cup. In tho High School-Karaka game, 38 was the School's total. T. Hoyle (26) was the only player to stand up to the bowling of Ray Buchan, who got s?ven wickets for 14 runs, and J. Buchan three for 23. In tho second innings, the boys put on 60 (C. Skollev 18, Wenzlick 13). A. Brokenshive bowled. 4-10, G. Buchan 2-7. J. D. McDona d 2-17. Karaka knocked up 135 (R. Buchan not out 68, E. Smith 15. A. Brokenshire 10). City butted first against Tararu and score.! 176 (A. Morrissey 20, G, Twenty man 12). R. Morgan bowled. 3-D. K. Dare 2-12. A. Cleave 2-1. Tararu replied with 132 (A. Cleave lU* K. Baker 14, E. After an interval of a month, due to the haymaking season, wet weather and horse races, tho Hauvuki Plains Cricket Association’s inter-club com - petition was continued on Saturday in ideal weather. The break in the continuity of play had affected tho keenness and the standard, with the result that Pipiroa. forfeited to Waitakaruru and small scores were made in the other matches. R. Phillips was top-scorer for Xgatea, making 3 9 of the team’s -7 in the game against Kaihere, which had a lead of 39 on the first innings. C. Randrup took six wickets for 18, and J. Hart four for 26. Kaihere made 60, cf which 11. Dave contributed 21 and F. Woodbridge 38. Both were caught by Donaghy, off Gribble. W. O’Neil took three for 15. and S. Phillips two for 12. Turua could muster only eight players for the game at Kopuaralil, aid these were dismissed for 19. The home team had a three-point win on the firs* innings.
