HAVASPOT UNDUE interest attaches to a horse's victory in his initial appearance under silk. It now looks as if it is going to take a pretty good hack to head Havaspot off in the Wyryard Plate at the end of the month, especially as he had a margin of two lengths over his opponents at Trentham on Saturday, and in addition showed a fine burst of speed in the final stages. The party connected with the Australian-bred ge ding clearly anticipated the result, too, and the nice return must have pleased them after considering the f*©* that a member of J. T. Jamieson’s stable rarely gives what could ba called a big dividend. Havaspot is by the Australia* sire, Tippler (imp.), whose stock at the Randwick sales last Easter commanded exceptionally good prices.
