Schneider Cup race, was killed in a triad flight at Deeenzano Airdrome. Warrant-Officer Dal Molin was among Italy’s most intrepid flight officers. In the race for the Schneider Cup at the Solent, on September 7, he gained second place at an average speed of 284.2 miles an hour. Prior to the race he saved one machine from disaster by a particularly clever display of aeronautic ability, when the cup machines were being tested on the waterway. Italy- has paid a heavy toll in its noted flyers. Captain Motta, a candidate for the cup race, was killed when one of Italy’s best machines crashed a few w-eeks before the cup event.
