Sir Truby King has left Wellington on a visit to Sydney. Mr. R. L. Renton, of Dunedin, arrived by the Limited express today. Mr. W. B. Mcllveney, Commissioner of police, and Mrs. Mcllveney, are staying at Hotel Cargen. Mr. H. H. Sterling, General Manager of Railways, who is staying at the Grand Hotel, will leave for the South this evening. Mr. C. M. Croft, Canadian Trade Commissioner, who left for Wellington last evening, will return on Wednesday. Mr. E. D. Douglas Tayler, Director of Music in Schools, and Mrs Douglas Tayler returned from England by the Port Denison this morning. Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Rout returned to Auckland this morning by the Port Denison after a year's tour abroad. They visited England and France. Mr. R. H. Mimmo, general manager of Hamilton Nimmo and Sons, Wellington, is staying at the Grand Hotex. He will return to Wellington on Wednesday. Mr. I. T. Fallwell, assistant clerk of the Waihi Magistrate’s Court, has been appointed Clerk of Court. Mr. Thos. Morgan, who has held the position for eight years, has been appointed Clerk of Court at Dargaville. Mr. B. B. Teakle, general manager of the Canadian National Steamships, accompanied by Mrs. Teakle, will arrive at Auckland by the Niagara from Vancouver on January 27.
