TWO BIG TALKIES A double feature programme of an attractive nature is being presented at lie Roxy Theatre, Queen Street, and the impress Theatre, Newton. 'Mother s Boy’’ is the headline feature in which Morton Downey, the New York tenor, has a leading role. His line singing which is splendidly reproduced, is a feature of the film. Beryl Mercer, who was seen in “Three Live Ghosts,” has also a prominent part. The second feature, "Square Shoulders,” a sound-synchronised and part talking picture, is the second attraction The principals are Junior Coghian and Louis Wolheim. They are supported by a strong cast. Excellent entertainment is provided by the supporting singing and dancing films. LUNA PARK IS OPEN Luna Park is the open air fun factory of Auckland, and there are abundant attractions for young and old. The rates open at 7.30 p.m. daily, while on Wednesdays and Saturdays there is an afternoon session, commencing at •> 30 All the attractions are in full TO-lng nightly, the great thrillers being •The Wall of Death” and "Death on the Guillotine.”
