CONCERT AT BIRKENHEAD
INDOOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION The Birkenhead ' and Northcote Lmted Friendly Societies Indoor Bowling Association held its third annual smoke concert and presentation of prizes in the Foresters’ Lodge Room Birkenhead on Saturday. The president of the association, Bro. E Steward, presided. A number of toasts were honoured and musical items were provided by the following: Bro. E. Stewart, Messrs. J. White, C. Hunter, M. J. De Rose P Hurn, R. Barter, W. Roberts, W. Copeland, the accompanists being Bros. Mayall, Hoyland, Cameran, Salt and Pike. The prize-winners were: Bros A. Anderson, C. Cameran, C. Davenport, E. Hoyland, H. McLean, A. Revell P Stewart, A. Wilkins, T. Atkins, L. Connor, F. Farrington, G. Huddlestone, J. P. McPhail, C. Sampson, E. Swindail, E. Wilkins, E. Bilkie, W. Copeland, F. Grant, W. Inkster, D. Norton, D. Simpson, J. Smith, H. Yelland, F. Blackwell, W. Corrin, J. Howarth, W. Mayall, A. Osborne, E. Steward and W. Vincent. The pairs championship for S. McGill and J. R. McPhail trophies was won by W. Woolley and C. Sampson, run-ners-up being E. Wilkins and W. Inkster. The singles championship for the C. Sampson Cup was won by N. Ilarkin, runner-up W. Vincent. Singles handicap for cup presented by G. Huddlestone, was won by W. Corrin, of the Druids, Northcote, run-ner-up E. Hoyland. Open fours tournament was won by Bros. Adams, Woolley, Blackwell and Cameron (A.0.F.), runners-up Bros. I- arnngton, Atkins, E. Wilkins and A. Smith (1.0.0. F.).
