NO DELAY
CABLE MERGER SUCCESSFUL “No delay has been experienced in the delivery of cablegrams since the merger.’' So said a prominent official of the Pacific Cable Company yesterday, when approached by a Sun man and asked how the merger was working. Several business firms were approached who expressed their opinions that the result of the merger was quite satisfactory as far as they were concerned. One firm was not satisfied, saying that a delay had occurred in the delivery of business cablegrams. “Other than the time when there was a submarine disturbance in the Atlantic, we have had no notice of any delay either written or verbal,” said the official. "Everything has been normal as far as we know. We have had the same desire to serve the public as before, and the idea of the cable merger was to improve facilities. The position is that if one route has trouble, the other route is there to help, and there would be no delay in either case. The merger is working quite satisfactorily.” As the merger had not been long in force they had not yet had time to settle down, but it was expected that the added facilities would appreciably increase service to the general public.
