TROUBLE WITH MALCONTENTS IN SOUTH AFRICA ARREST FOLLOWS RIOTS United I’-A. —By Telegraph Copyright Reed. 10.30 a.m. CAPETOWN, Thurs. A strike of railway native workers at East London today met with little response, but the stevedore natives who were not affected have demanded better wages and have refused to work. The position throughout the country is causing anxiety. A native professor named Thaele, who was concerned in the native riot at Carnarvon on Monday, has been arrested and charged with sedition. Bail was granted.
