YACHT CLUBS COMBINE

TOMORROW’S RACING HANDICAPS DECLARED The Victoria, Ponsonby and Richmond Cruising' Clubs are combining tomorrow to hold a series of cruising and harbour races. The Victoria Club’s chief event is a general handicap for the Surfdale and Macky Memorial Shields. The course for the cruising races is from the start between the dredge Maui and a mark on the boat harbour wall, thence direct to Surfdale, observing Sandspit, Bean Rock and Brown’s Island light. The finish will be between the launch Pal O’ Mine and a mark moored east. The course for the harbour races is from the start between the dredge and the mark on the boat harbour wall, thence round a mark off the western tide deflector, thence round a mark buoy in Shoal Bay, thence round a mark off the Watchman Island, twice round. All marks must be passed on port hand. In the event of the starter ordering boats to start the reverse way in races over the above course a black flag will be hoisted in sufficent time before the start of an event. If the reversed course is decided on boats will go round the Watchman first, all marks to be passed on starboard. The officials are: Cruising Races.—Messrs. O. Johnson, starter; L. Tercel, judge; W. Walsh, timekeeper. Harbour Races.—-Messrs. O. Johnson, starter; E. Griffiths, judge; A. Perkins, J. McGehan and "W. Maher, assisted by representatives from the three clubs, timekeepers.
