WAR OFFICE COSTS CUT
£1,500,000 SAVED WILE GO TO SOCIAL RELIEF BRITAIN’S TAXATION RISING United P. A.—By Telegraph — Copyright LONDON, Thursday. The War Office has drastically revised the War Office estimates. It expects to save £1,500,000. and will devote the money to social services, according to the “Daily Herald.” It is hinted elsev.-here that the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Mr. Snowden, will impose a. super-tax on incomes of £I,OOO and upward, and will iucrease the death duties.
