ARCHIBALD AWARD FOR AUSTRALIAN PAINTER PORTRAIT OF EX-PREMIER Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The National Art Gallery trustees have awarded the Archibald Prize this year to Sir John Longstaff. for his portrait of the Hon. W. A. Holman, K.C., former Premier of New South Wales. The pictures exhibited numbered ■75. The prize was founded by the late John Archibald, of the “Bulletin,” for the best portrait painting by an Australian artist, and is awarded annually.
