The final screening will be given j this evening of the fine double-feature Programme which has been shown at the Lyric Theatre during the past few days. The pictures are Adolphe MenJoii’a latest light romantic comedy, ‘‘Marquis* Preferred.’* the story of a bankrupt French nobleman, and “The Noose,’* a powerful American underworld drama starring Richard BarthelFrom tomorrow an entirely new Programme will be screened at the Lyric. The films are “The Fleet’s In. ’ a. breezy tale of the loves of a da nee -hall hostess at an American naval base, starring the inimitable t'lara Bow, and “The Hawk’s Nest,” another powerful underworld story W'ith the famous actor, Milton Sills, ht the role of a gang leader. There seems to be a general impression that Helen Chandler’s rise to popularity on her showing in the Movietone picture, “Salute,” was another sensational break for a stage actress coming inexperienced to the screen. As a matter of fact, Miss Chandler acquired a ground-work in movie-picture technique two years *go vrhen she was used by Allen Dwan in several pictures just before she went New York to score a success with Mi© theatre guild.
